New York Anime Festival: September 25-27 [Part 1 - Events]
It’s time again for the New York Anime Festival. Hosted at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, a plethora of events are lined up for the action filled weekend in the city that never sleeps. The time and place is set and there’s nobody but the New York born blogger himself to give the world an insight of the events scheduled. The only thing that would make this better is if I was there in person myself.
Date & Time: September 25-27th ; The Exhibition Hall closes at 7PM each day. (On Sundays, at 5PM) On Friday, it is opened at 1PM, and at 10AM on Saturday and Sunday. Everything else closes at 10PM.
Place: Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan, NY. It is a conference and convention center. It is located at 655 West 34th Street.
What’s going down at the Center?

Hall Cosplay Content (4-6:30PM) [Ginger Room - 1B05] - For those who love to dress up as their favorite anime characters but who are too nervous to perform on stage in front of a public audience can live their dreams with a closed door judging. The only thing that cosplayers have to worry about is how accurate their costumes are. You will need to file an application either online or in person. For more information, just the event page here.
Cosplay Variety Show – The Cosplay Variety Show is where you – the character – put on a show for the audiences of NYAF. It’s non competitive so there’s no pressure at all. There is no time set for the show so make sure that you check it on the site or later on. Submissions are closed.
Cosplay Dating Game - Well this is a game for the older younger masses out there or just for the old folks. The purpose of this is to dress up and participate in a dating game. You know how that works – you just fight over the best person in a costume.
Submissions are currently ongoing. You must be 18 years or older, have a PG-13 costume, and have photos of your complete costume, accessories, etc. available. If you want to participate in this and other cosplay events, you must sign up under one character. If you break this rule, you will be disqualified. You can submit an application and photos here.
