This Entry Will Spoil the Anime Experience!

So it’s been a long time since I’ve written too. I had a draft for this with like half a sentence, lol well I’m finally getting around to writing again. This is my first real bog post since Toradora! ended, I still need to do a review of it, we’ll see when and if I do it. In the meantime, Haruhi 2k9 run is out and suspected airing dates are apparently still changing, but at least it’s out! Chihiro’s torrents are at the bottom of the page.

Ok so for the return we are given the episode called “Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody” Basically Haruhi wants everyone in the brigade to join her in making wishes to the two stars Orihime and Hikoboshi. If you don’t know in Japan they celebrate Tanabata by making one wish to each of the stars and hanging them on bamboo. Haruhi with her wits makes away with a bamboo tree and brings it to the clubroom and explains the activity to everyone. Once everything is done Haruhi leaves the clubroom a bit depressed/melancholic, and both Mikuru and Yuki give Kyon a note. Love Mikuru’s note sounds sexy, she asks him to stay behind, she wants to show Kyon something. Long story short she takes him to the past, 3 years to be exact to meet Haruhi in middle school, of course Mikuru doesn’t know that much, so the adult Mikuru shows up and fills Kyon in on the details. Kyon meets with a kawaii loli Haruhi and helps her draw the pictures on the school grounds that Taniguchi and Kunikida once told Kyon about. How ironic it was him who really drew those, when they finish they talk a bit and this is where Haruhi gets the brilliant idea that she wants to go to North High when she grows up. As they finish up their conversation Kyon wakes Mikuru up and a problem arises, she has lost her time travel device. Kyon then pulls out the note that Yuki gave him and realizes she can help them. Kawaii Mikuru and Kyon go visit her three years in the past, and after explaining the situation to her, she synchronizes with herself from the future and helps them out. Yuki sets up a room for Kyon and Mikuru to sleep together in -nice- and closes the door to the room on them. Immediately she opens the door again and comes in, to Mikuru’s astonishment they are back in their time and Yuki and Mikuru explain to Kyon how Yuki did it, she froze time in that room, lol. So back in the future Kyon and Mikuru go their separate ways. At school the next day Kyon asks Haruhi why she’s depressed and she says Tanabata brings back memories for her, now we know what memories.

The entire episode is a good one; I have no complaints other then why Kyoto Animation was so damn secretive about Haruhi 2 or whatever you want to call it. Even when it became obvious by the rerun schedule that there where 14 more unnamed episodes. Mikuru is the same Seiyū, she sounds cute as always but a bit different I don’t know how, my wife Aya Hirano is doing Haruhi of course and sounds as cute as ever. I loved this episode because #1 its new, and its a great start to 2 years of nothing, a lot of stuff is explained, I kind of know it from skimming the novels but I love seeing it in action.

Several groups picked this up when it came out, so far about only 2 have released all 3 episodes that have aired as of today 6/29/09 and the rest have only done this one. I recommend getting it from Chihiro of course. Here are the torrents if you want them
