Animeted – Look Back on October
Here’s the last post before I go to sleep. It’s November, and I was looking back at the post calendar. Animeted sure has gotten more active since October started. It proves itself with no posts on only 8 days out of the month. Even though thats a 74%, this October month has been packed with updates, and in case you missed it, there’s a lot to find out.
First off, at the beginning of the month, Fall 2008 was just kicking off, and getting into high gear with all of the good anime. Clannad, Gundam 00, Rosario to Vampire, Index, and tons more were airing, and best yet, they were all unlicensed. Surely, licensing was bound to happen, but the first three weeks didn’t really say that.
Within those three weeks, we picked up a new blogger for Animeted. An old friend from high school who is interested in anime as much as me joined after my referral. For a die-hard fan like her, she would definitely make the cut. Oh yeah, I’m talking about punkgrl. Take a look at the introductory post.
However, the joy of getting a new blogger that produces excellent posts was shattered two days later. An anime gone licensed. Like said before, licensing happens. This was an exception. To the perfect Shikabane Hime: AKA anime. Worse yet, it’s by Funimation. Even though fansubs might probably still be subbing Shikabane, we won’t be able to watch legally until the DVD comes out. Ever since Shikabane has been licensed, Funimation just turned the show into a whole money making business offering streaming episodes of Shikabane with the option to download. On top of that, there’s the international airs in other countries (one of each will eventually be the US), DVDs, the sequel, etc. All I have to say is that, hope is not lost! Not at all.
Starting the week on a bad note, that quickly changed. Kristen, the leader of Chihiro Fansubs, was lurking in our irc channel. When I talked to her, she was interested with a group affiliation. That’s explained in the post here. Even though we haven’t gotten a response from our lead – Senseito Sakura – I decided to make the decision to affiliate hoping that it will turn out for the better. So far, everything is going good, and as the affiliation goes on, I’m sure we can have some good times together as well as get users to visit both Animeted as well as Chihiro.
Before you know it, November is here. So what does that mean? Well it means that Animeted is just going to strive to bring you the latest anime releases, andi improve. In Addition, Animeted will look into affiliating with other fansub groups as long as they don’t conflict with previous affiliations. Soon enough, Animeted will be more busier than ever. We already have the irc channel up and running 24/7 on Rizon. The forums are still not available at the time being as we are still looking for more activity before the re-opening of the forums. So that’s pretty much about. Keep coming on to take a look at the release posts. Hope we are serving you guys well.
