Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae Ep 1
Posted on October 20th, 2008 by punkgrl
Hey guys what’s up? If you’ve read the previous post, then you’ll know I’m the newest member of the Animeted team (Thanks for the welcome guys!) So I decided to kick off my posting career with a little episode review. Why? Well, I like reviewing things, and I wasn’t sure of what else to blog so, um yeah. Today, I will be reviewing the first episode of the highly anticipated season of Jigoku Shoujo (also known as Hell Girl in the States). Now for those of you who saw Futakomori, you knew what happened to our beloved Ai-chan. So then, why is she back? How did she come back? Well, I’m not sure but it seems she’s back and so’s Hell Correspondence. There’s also a new character named Yamawaro who seriously reminds me of Takuma-kun from Futakomori, yet I don’t think it’s him. Or maybe it is? I don’t know.
The first episode kicks off with a reappearance of all the old characters doing odd jobs around the city. That is, until Ai calls them back Again, how did she come back? Not even Kikuri is sure, but thanks to a certain high school girl who she now shares bodies with, she is able to do her job as she normally would. This episode focuses on a teacher who constantly tells his students to do well, or he threatens he’ll write them up. One girl, takes his words too far and ends up calling Hell Correspondence to send him to hell. However, it just so happens that the girl is the friend of the girl whom Ai is currently possessing. Because of this, Yuzuki (I now know the girl’s name) is able to see all that Ai does and helplessly watches as her friend makes the fate-bounding covenant with Ai. All in all, this was a pretty messed up episode, but hey this is Jigoku Shoujo we’re talking about here. I thoroughly enjoyed the trippy freakiness of it and I can’t wait for the next episode. So ’till then, I’ll see you guys around ^^
P.S: There’s also a little bit in there that caters to the yuri fans as well
